Unlike PDF files, DOC files can be easily edited with many programs.
Adobe Acrobat is the most popular software for this, but it usually costs a lot of money. However, the downside of this versatility is that PDF files cannot be edited without special software. For example, if someone created a PDF document on a MacBook, it would look the same on a Windows laptop, a smartphone, or even a TV. PDFs are great because they look the same on any screen.
